Tidelock Services is a team of experienced specialists for small businesses in the DC metro area. We look at how your business really runs, then help with whatever would make it easier: finding work, the back office, pricing, software, or someone to run the project.
There is no pitch. A 20-minute call is free, and it is mostly us listening.
Washington, DC
Sound familiar?
A customer asks to book, the reply comes late, and the job goes to someone else.
Your books are a shoebox, and tax time is a scramble.
Bids and contracts are out there, but no one tells you which ones fit.
What we help with
Five ways we can be useful. Pick one or several.
Most people reach out about one thing and find a second thing underneath it. Technology is how we deliver, not what we sell, so many conversations never involve code at all.
Start with how the business runs. Fix the process. Add software where it helps.
These steps are a guide, not a contract. You can use one of them, or all six. We will say so if a smaller step is enough.
01
Listen
A 20-minute call about what is slowing you down and what you have already tried.
02
Assess
We map how work, people, and money move today, and what each tool and subscription costs.
03
Streamline
We remove steps, spreadsheets, and overlapping subscriptions that add cost without adding value.
04
Standardize
We write down your own procedures for hiring, approvals, pricing, and delivery so everyone follows the same steps.
05
Set up
Where software helps, we choose or build it: booking, dispatch, scheduling, payments, and the tools around them.
06
Hand over
We train your team, give you the accounts and the administration, and stay on if you want us to.
Recent work
A few things we have built and run, described without the names.
We keep client names private. What follows is the context: who the client is, what was hard, and what we did about it.
Operations platform
One system for a facility services company of about fifty people.
The company schedules crews, tracks tasks, reviews time and payroll, hires, pays vendors, and needs proof that work was done. It had to be affordable at about fifty people and easy to use on a crew phone.
What we did
Built a web console, a task workspace, and a crew app over shared records, plus a public website with careers and subcontractor intake. Hiring, offboarding, time off, schedules, and payments share one approvals engine.
What was hard
Permissions that stay consistent across web, mobile, and API. Time clocks that the server controls, not the phone. Payroll that includes only approved shifts.
What stayed true
The owner changes workflows without a developer, and every manager follows the same steps.

Booking and online shop
Quote first booking for a mobile catering business.
The business serves weddings, corporate events, and gatherings across the region and sells coffee online. It needed to turn visitors into confirmed, paid events without a technical team or a hosting bill.
What we did
A story led website with location and service pages, online booking with live availability, deposits and later balance charges, and a dashboard where the owner changes packages, prices, and dates.
What was hard
After a real double booking we added a per date lock so two simultaneous requests cannot both pass. We moved to quote by email first, with a deposit once the customer accepts, and wrote clear rules for refunds.
What stayed true
Dashboards and the public site show only real bookings and real traffic.

AI platform and bid pipeline
An AI platform, then the pipeline around it, for a government IT contractor.
The client needed a production AI platform taken from build to live operation. Once it was live, it needed day to day ownership of a growing, multi agency bid pipeline.
What we did
Led product and engineering for a multi tenant platform that sends routine questions to rules and only ambiguous ones to a model, with document search and a drafting system for solicitation responses. Then ran the pipeline: a qualification step for every opportunity, partner coordination, and portal navigation.
What was hard
Keeping search results inside the right tenant, keeping drafts inside the solicitation's rules, and making sure a person reviews anything before it is submitted.
We team on other firms' bids, and we bring in partners when a bid needs more than one business can cover alone. If you lead a firm that needs delivery capacity, a project lead, or a technical partner, we would like to hear from you. We are also glad to refer work that is not right for us.
Your accounts, data, and domain stay with you, with no fee for every seat as your team grows.
Written scope
We start with a plain proposal that names the work, the timing, and who is responsible for what.
Real numbers only
We remove placeholder data so dashboards and sites show what actually happened.
Handover included
Training and admin access, so you are never waiting on us to change a price or a page.
Questions
Questions owners ask us first.
What kinds of businesses do you work with?
Mostly small businesses in DC, Maryland, and Virginia that do real work: mobile vendors and event businesses, trades and towing companies, property managers, dental and other practices, and new businesses that are earning and want a plain way to run the business side.
What does a first call involve?
A 20-minute call that is mostly us listening. You tell us what is slowing you down. We give you an honest read on what would help most, including when a smaller step is enough or when we are not the right fit.
Do you help with government contracts?
Yes. We help you check which registrations apply, find solicitations that match what you already do, and prepare capability statements and bid packages. A person reviews everything before it is sent. We cannot guarantee that you win.
Can you build software for my business?
Yes. Off the shelf software rarely matches how a small business runs. We choose, connect, or build tools around your process, including booking, dispatch, scheduling, and pricing tools, and software that uses AI where it saves time.
What is the 30-day founding trial?
A way to see the work before you decide. The trial is the work, not a tour. We walk you through scope, timing, and cost on the call, and you choose whether to continue.
Where are you based and where do you work?
We are based in Alexandria, Virginia. We meet in person around DC, Northern Virginia, and Maryland, and we work remotely with owners across the region.
